Camisoles

For a sexy, versatile yet inexpensive lingerie, you really can’t go wrong with a camisole. Aside from the fact that it is very comfortable, camisoles can also be fantastically fashionable! Camisoles are among the lingerie which are also becoming outerwear; that is, they are not really constrained to be worn exclusively as underwear anymore. Look at any fashion show on TV or in real life and chances are, you will see a model strutting her stuff with a camisole top. The whole effect gives off a very sexy and yet still decent air that combines for a very good and eye-catching image.

In a nutshell, camisoles are underclothing that cover the bust down to the waist and are generally used to either provide a little extra weight or to give added covers for tops. Most camisoles have spaghetti straps, although there are some which have wider straps that allow them to cover the straps of brassieres (although these can already be called tank tops). Camisoles are made of different fabrics, with the most common being cotton, silk and polyester. These are the types that are usually worn as outwear, most commonly, under suit jackets or matched shirt.

Like most wears, camisoles come in the usual sizes, that being small, medium, large and plus. Small sizes are for those with a light and slim build while large ones are for the opposite. Medium is a compromise in between. Plus-sized camisoles are for women with added flesh and weight in them, and are usually specially designed to add confidence to the wearer. The ranges for each size will vary from country to country, so make sure that you do some research first before buying one online or overseas. Generally though, they are based on basic build.

The Types of Camisoles

Camisoles come in many types and variety and choosing what to get or wear is dependent on the occasion. Sheer, see-through camisoles for example are best left in the bedroom. If you have to wear them outside one, it is best that they be worn underneath another layer. Shaping camisoles, on the other hand, are designed to give the body a more streamlined silhouette. There are also maternity camisoles that are designed for pregnant women. They usually have a clasp built in for nursing, although they can also be worn normally. Lastly, underwire camisoles are designed for those who do not want to wear a bra just to feel comfortable.

Ways To Wear One

The camisole is a very versatile lingerie, given the fact that it can have different designs and styles and can be worn as a top. Unless the camisole is see-through, it can be worn without a bra, provided that the bust is not big enough as to be uncomfortable, in which case wear a bra. If opting for the latter, it is better to just wear it with a seamless, strapless brassiere.

Camisoles are also good when worn in layers since a cami is an essential layering piece. A good look is to wear two camisoles at once, in complementary colors. Pair this with blue jeans or skirt and watch the heads turn. Conversely, it can also be worn under a boatneck t-shirt so the straps pop.

Cotton camisoles are also very good to sleep in. Pair one with pyjamas, or just slip them with panties and get ready for a good night’s sleep. Just be sure that the camisole straps aren’t too tight or you’ll wake up with an irritated and red-lined skin.jb
